Tablets vs Phones

Let's be straightforward here: we're primarily a phone app. But Cargosnap also works on a tablet. We just think that the phone is a better medium than a tablet. This is because of the form factor: when you work in a warehouse or terminal, you want the liberty to move around and have your hands free. A tablet is often big, and will not comfortably carry in a pocket. So we prefer phones. Today's phones have great screens, so you do not have to miss out on any information presented on them.

Android versus iOS

Cargosnap supports both Android and iPhone and while our releases sometimes do not align to the day, you will have the same feature set on either platform. We test our app on a number of iPhones and Android devices but, of course, cannot cover every device around. At the time of writing, we estimate we support > 10,000 different hardware combinations!

Collector devices that support Android apps could also work, however, you might not experience the app's performance as designed.

The hardware specifications

Obviously, the higher the specifications, the better the phone will perform on any task, including Cargosnap. But that will come at a price. A $1200 iPhone dropping on the warehouse floor hurts more than a $200 low-end Android. So it's a bit of a budget game here. (But the point above goes; get that  phone a $20 protector for sure!)
