Remove or delete a file
Cargosnap stores all your data patiently. But sometimes old files just get in the way, and you need to get rid of them. No hard feelings ;-)
☝️ Important: because deleting files is not reversible, please consider if you really need to remove it. There are also options possible to "deprioritize" a file. For example, consider closing a file.
Because deleting files can lead to support questions, we set up the default permissions to not allow users to delete files. To be able to delete files, an Admin needs to access the "Company Settings", go to the "Permissions" tab, and check the "Files can be deleted" option. It is then possible to define which roles are granted this permission:
Once this feature is enabled, deleting is easy (but not too easy). There are two options:
1. Deleting a file directly from its menu:
Within your file's page, click the "..." menu button and click "Delete":
You will be asked to confirm the deletion. Bear in mind that this will delete the file and all its content.
2. From the Files page view, you can remove multiple files in 1 action
Find and select those files you want to remove and click the "With selected" button, to get to the "Delete" menu option:
To avoid accidental large numbers of files being removed (let us remind you there is no undelete option!), we ask you to confirm how many files you want to remove:
Confirm, and that will do it; all is nice and tidy again!
